What Can I Expect?
Pain
Throughout your treatment, you will feel a warm sensation caused by pulses of light. We ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the whole procedure, and if you experience slight discomfort, we may offer you a topical anesthetic to reduce any sensation. Little to no pain can be experienced post-operatively.
Recovery
Your skin may appear red and feel sensitive for a couple days following your treatment. Many patients experience a darkening of freckles and brown spots in the treated area that can be compared to the appearance of “coffee grounds.” These will linger for a few days until they fall off. You may apply emollients until the area appears completely healed.
Results
Following your IPL treatment, you will see a noticeable improvement in skin tone as this treatment reduces existing sun damage.
